Join us for a magical, family-friendly afternoon for the young and young-at-heart on the lawn at the Lawrence County Historical Society. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and hear three experienced storytellers weave tales certain to capture the imagination of the audience.

STORYTELLERS

  1. Judi Young-Tarowsky – a one-time New Castle native, Judi received a Journalism degree from West Virginia University. She worked for newspapers in the Upper Ohio Valley for 25 years. Judi discovered storytelling in 2006 and has been active ever since. She is a member of the West Virginia Storytelling Guild and a past president of the same. Judi presently resides in Weirton WV.
  2. Misty Mator – better known as ‘Starla the Storyteller’, captivates with timeless tales that teaches history, celebrates culture, inspires creativity, and promotes moral values. Starla has appeared at Pittsburgh’s Alphabet Trails & Tales, the Ellwood City Storytelling Festival, the Beaver Tales Storytelling Festival, and at numerous schools, libraries, and events.
  3. Tim Hartman – a native Pittsburgher, Tim has been professionally acting, singing, writing, cartooning and storytelling since 1972. Known primarily for his Broadway stage work, which includes A Tale of Two Cities and the Tony nominated Finian’s Rainbow, Tim’s greatest joy is performing his own brand of stand-up comedy, and storytelling for children and family audiences. Tim is also an award-winning cartoonist whose cartoons appear in the New Castle News.

TOURS AVAILABLE: Tours of the Clavelli Mansion may be reserved between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. Tour cost is $5 per person.
